Get the Mavericks app

Add the app to your home screen and turn on notifications so you never miss a match or a message. It takes about a minute, and there is no password and nothing to download from an app store.

On an iPhone

  1. Open the link in SafariTap Open the app in any club email, or go to mavericksnetballuae.com/portal. It must be Safari: notifications only work for an app added from Safari.
  2. Tap Share, then Add to Home ScreenThe Share button is the square with an arrow pointing up — at the bottom of the screen (at the top on an iPad). Scroll down the list to find Add to Home Screen, then tap Add.
  3. Open the app from your home screen (sign in if it asks)Look for the Mavericks icon. Always open the club from this icon from now on, not from Safari. If it asks for your email, type the address the club has for you and tap the sign-in link we email you.
  4. Go to Settings and turn on notificationsTap Settings in the app, then Yes, notify me on the notifications card, and Allow when your iPhone asks.

On an Android phone

  1. Open the link in ChromeTap Open the app in any club email, or go to mavericksnetballuae.com/portal in Chrome.
  2. Tap the menu, then Install app (or Add to home screen)The menu is the ⋮ at the top right. Some phones show Install app, others Add to home screen — either works. Confirm with Install or Add.
  3. Open the app, go to Settings and allow notificationsOpen the Mavericks icon on your home screen and sign in if it asks. Tap Settings in the app, then Yes, notify me on the notifications card, and Allow.

What notifications you get

The app tells you about:

  • The evening before a match: the details for the next day
  • A reminder when we still need an availability answer
  • A coach replies to your messages
  • An urgent change — training cancelled or moved
  • A new fixture is added
  • A squad is announced
  • The club's newsletter, when a new issue is out
  • A shop order is ready to collect at training

In the app you also see every match and training, tell the coaches Coming or Not coming, read and send messages, and follow your payments and kit. Each parent can switch their own app notifications on or off any time in Settings → Communication. Each phone is separate: a parent with two phones turns them on, on each phone.

Notifications not arriving?

  • Open the club from the Home Screen icon, not from a Safari tab. On an iPhone, a Safari tab can never receive notifications.
  • Check your iPhone’s version. Notifications need iOS 16.4 or later: Settings → General → Software Update.
  • Check the phone allows them. iPhone: Settings → Notifications → Mavericks → Allow Notifications on. Android: Settings → Apps → Mavericks (or Chrome) → Notifications on.
  • Check the app’s own switch. In the app, Settings → Communication: App notifications must be on for you.
  • Focus or Do Not Disturb holds notifications back until it is switched off.
  • Tapped “Don’t Allow” by mistake? Turn it back on in the phone’s settings (above) — the app cannot ask again on that phone.

Still stuck? Message the club and we will help you set it up.
